Strings (Multiline)

In Sputnik there are several times of strings the most basic being " double quotes. These types do not support multilines by themselves however if they side by side they will join together so:

say "hello"
    " world"
    " !";
// PRINTS
// hello world !

You use the q and qq operators to produce strings that span multiple lines in one go example using q

say q"
hello
world!
";
// PRINTS
//
// hello
// world!
//

Example using qq

say qq"
hello
world!
";
// PRINTS
//
// hello
// world!
//

q does not get parsed for escapes and variables where as qq does.

Check out String (Heredoc) for the largest and most powerful multiline string system available in Sputnik.

You can of course use all the possible string types seen in Strings datatype section.
